Medtech startup CHD raised CHF 150,000 to bring pregnancy monitoring into patients’ homes

Medtech startup CHD (Connected Health Development) has obtained CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick to advance digital solutions for remote maternal and fetal monitoring. By enabling healthcare professionals to monitor high-risk pregnancies beyond the hospital, the company aims to improve access to care, detect potential complications earlier, and reduce pressure on healthcare systems.
More than 140 million babies are born worldwide each year, with around 15% of pregnancies considered high-risk and requiring regular medical surveillance. These frequent hospital visits place a considerable burden on expectant mothers and healthcare providers alike. With staff shortages and limited hospital capacity adding to the pressure, reliable solutions that allow medical teams to monitor both mother and baby remotely are increasingly needed.
CHD develops connected health solutions combining medical sensors, digital platforms, and advanced data analysis to help healthcare professionals monitor patients remotely and make informed clinical decisions.
CHD’s MONI2 remote monitoring solution uses a comfortable, washable smart textile belt to collect fetal and maternal ECG, uterine contractions, fetal movements, and position. Pregnant women can access basic indicators via a smartphone app, while healthcare professionals receive raw data and predictive indicators through a secure web portal for diagnosis. CHD plans consumer and medical versions using the same hardware, targeting over 30,000 kits and subscriptions sold within four years.
The CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick will be used to develop, test, and validate the functional prototypes for Q2 27, to commercially release the consumer version of MONI2 by beginning 28 (the first medical version FDA cleared being planned for end 2029).
The team brings together CEO Laurent Vandebrouck, CMO Pr Nicolas Sananès, CSO Dr. Marc Salomon, combining expertise in entrepreneurship, smart textile-based digital health service operation, as well as KOLs in gynecology and cardiology.
“It is really an honor to be selected by a so efficient, supportive and performing investor as Venture Kick contributing to our 1st tranche of our Seeding fundraise. This support will allow us to close this fundraise by October as initially planned, as other private investors and a Foundation have already committed or plan to do it soon,” highlighted Laurent Vandebrouck.
